👀 Apple updates App Store terms for NFTs

Just Yesterday: Apple updated their TOS to stop apps from using NFTs to paywall/gate content and features.

This is one of the largest benefits of using NFTs in apps, and now many web3 apps are in violation of Apple’s terms. This could potentially dissuade new web3 apps from being launched on the App store.

😅 The crypto community was predictably not happy with this announcement. And this latest update by Apple certainly won’t be the end of the struggle between Web3 builders and tech companies.

Their new updates include:

  1. Hiding collections - can choose to blur or remove from the feed on the global settings page

  2. Show detailed analysis of flags - show how many are by notable groups

  3. Added sudoswap & nftflip to quick links

  4. Added more groups to follow (DigiDaigaku, Pudgy Penguins & Wumbo Pass)

Team / Funding / Backers / Other Info: Degenmint is already partnered with 50+ communities for the closed beta wave 1 & 2 in July 2022. The collab & partnership request form is closed for now.

Degenmint also added a google lens quick search on the image. Just hover or click on the project image. You can use this to check if the art is stolen or not.

Team / Funding / Backers Info / Transaction Amount: Last March 2022, Socket (previously Movr Network) has announced a $5mn seed round, led by Framework Ventures, and with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Lightspeed, eGirl Capital, Nascent, Geometry, and entrepreneur Mark Cuban, among others.

The round will support Socket’s aim to unify the multichain ecosystem by connecting all chains and enabling seamless asset and data transfers between them.
