Type of Product: Web3 Social

Purpose of Tool: Lenster is a decentralized and permissionless social media app built with Lens Protocol. Lenster lives in the Polygon network, so users can interact with dApp seamlessly with zero gas fees, no one can take down any content from the app, even the admins.

The Problems Lenster solves:

  • Personal Information: No need to provide any personal information except your username and wallet address, and they don't collect any sensitive information.

  • Privacy: Lenster or the Lens team doesn't have access to moderate your posts, everything you post is public, and you are responsible for it.

  • Spam: In Lenster you need to sign for everything to prevent spamming

  • Downtime: Lenster is hosted in a decentralized chain and decentralized file storage system IPFS, resulting in 0 downtimes, and no one can DDoS the platform. 

Team / Funding / Backers / Other Info: Lenster rewarded POAPs for early users on their launch, and the release of Lenster beta to the public mainnet was in Q2 of 2022, allowing all users to try Lenster without any gas. Lenster participated in the Gitcoin GR14 round from last June, receiving a ~$155,000 Estimated lifetime funding.

Since that round, they have received 1 million page views (and counting), with 109k unique visitors from 174 countries.

On October 21st, 2022, ChainJet added support for Lens Protocol, allowing users to connect Lens Protocol with dozens of integrations: such as auto-indexing their tweets to Lens Protocol.
