Metamask Privacy Update Causes Uproar, Search Engine for Web3, Copymint Security, New Web3 Dashboard, Creator Tokens, and more!

💡 Intro
🥳 Happy Friday! Hope everyone in the US had a good Thanksgiving yesterday!
The TFC team is back online today and ready to cover the big drama in the Dapp space with Metamask.
🦊 Metamask Privacy Update Causes Uproar
It started with a change to Metamask’s privacy policy around Infura (the node provider that comes default with Metamask) recording your IP and ETH wallet address.
From a technical side: this is nothing new. Servers by default see your IP address when you send requests. And RPC nodes receive your ETH address when you make transactions.
The big question is the “Collect” wording: they’ve received both of those fields the whole time, so by Collect do they mean Save? Or merely mean Receive (and then don’t store them in a database)?
The founder put out a clarifying tweet thread below, alluding to the first instance:

I’m seeing a lot of misunderstandings around our updated privacy policy that need to be clarified.

Infura does not exploit this data, nor does ConsenSys monetize it. Infura is pursuing technical solutions to minimize data collection, including anonymization techniques and complete elimination of data collected.

Our legal team endeavors to state the policies accurately and clearly, but since the systems are complex and English can be ambiguous, sometimes the legal team introduces ambiguities. We apologize for any confusion we may have caused.

👉 Crypto & Web3 communities are much more privacy aware then Web2 audiences, and so this update has caused a lot of anger online.
🛡️ Alternatives To Metamask
Even with the clarification: many big crypto proponents are still saying it’s a problem + giving alternatives to Metamask.
on unlock, metamask doxxes all your addresses to infura. they have full visibility and can easily establish a link between all your addresses, as well as link all your addresses to your ip address and browser fingerprint, before you even make any action with the wallet.
